Lavin may feel like he still has something to prove. And - for some irrational reason I could see him sticking around SB for a decade or so.

He coached UCLA for 7 years then St. Johns for 5.  Lavin's last contract was 6 years for 9 million which ended 1 year short.  He has enough funds to support his family and a move to SB could be a good one for him although not financially.  He could go after the big money again but he is also 52 years old and if he sticks at SB, he could end up retiring here.  He gets to coach again for the love of the game without the pressures of UCLA and St. Johns while getting a good salary around possibly 500K per year, I would guess.

This would get the SB fans truly excited too!!
